Limited Edition:Our denim comes in distinct categories (Stretch, Selvedge and Small Batch), for the same reason that sometimes you want an artisanal sipping whiskey, and others a draft beer. The Made in USA Selvedge is our most premium jean, what we call Small Batch Denim. Created in partnership with denim guru Eric Goldstein (whose credits include Jean Shop and RRL), it’s woven at Vidalia Mills in Vidalia, Louisiana.
Vidalia is quickly becoming famous among aficionados for its “farm-to-yarn” denim as the cotton is grown within 400 miles of the mill. So these jeans are grown and woven locally on Vidalia's Draper X3 selvedge denim looms, some dating back to the 1940s and acquired from the mythic White Oak Plant in Greensboro, North Carolina. On these old-school looms it takes about two hours to weave enough fabric for one pair of jean.This is the denim equivalent of cutting a soul album at Muscle Shoals.
Our Washed Indigo Slim Fit is rope-dyed the old fashioned way in genuine indigo and meant to simulate the faded, worn look of a vintage find from The Seventies. Other old-school details includea shank button fly, oxidized rivets, chain-stitched embroidery, a selvedge locker loop inside the back waist and selvedge outseams. So when you turn up the cuff, you’ll see the giveaway ticking on the edge.
